Like a broken record, we keep hitting the same sentiment: Christmas’s return is good. Let’s roll with it.
Perhaps the hit R+B parody is a cue, by The Van Bloom Brothers sing (?) “Christmas Again” upbeat, yet seem to be scaring us with what will happen.
Classic ska from the ’80s maintains that when it’s “Christmas Time (Again)” we won’t have to go to school. So that’s good. But these orphans take what joy they can scratch from the cold hard ground.
Jason Hostrum uses electronica, sweet girl backup, and an odd downbeat to frolic through “Christmastime Again.” I’m drawn to it’s implicit sardonica.
